About the event


Through guided demonstrations and individual practice, students will explore the expressive potential of thread as a drawing medium, while developing an understanding of basic color theory to bring depth, mood, and vitality to their work. No

prior embroidery experience is required—beginners and seasoned makers alike will benefit from exercises that cover:

• Translating a photo portrait into an embroidery design

• Using stitches to model form, texture, and contour

• Blending and layering colored threads for tonal variation
